The medical information is wonderful. With two doctors as consultants you know this information is up to date and reliable. Many of the questions we all have during pregnancy are answered in this book. Because of the easy to understand context I had no trouble understanding what all the medical stuff meant and how if pertained to me and the baby.
There’s nothing left out or skimmed over in this book. It’s very easy to read and understand, especially for first time parents. All the information contained in this book is sensible, no nonsense information. It is timely and very well written so everyone can grasp it. It is so easy to read and understand and I never have a problem finding what I’m looking for int the book. I use it almost everyday. It is full of wonderful resources and many colored pictures that help to explain what is happening to the expectant mother and her baby.
If you are expecting, whether it be your first child or your fourth, check out this book. I’m thrilled it’s in my library of pregnancy books. So thrilled in fact, that it’s the only one up there without any dust on the cover because I refer to it frequently.

Review: How to Talk So Teens Will Listen & Listen So Teens Will Talk
Description: This book, written by two experts in adult and child communications, shows you that it is possible to have a loving relationship with your teenager. It gives insight into listening to your child but most importantly, HOW to talk to your teenager so they will talk and listen to you as well.
Review: The yelling, the screaming, the stomping off, the door slamming and even the silent treatment was the way around my house and I just couldn’t take it anymore. If I as the parent couldn’t take it then I was sure my child couldn’t take it either. If I was doing this what was I teaching my child? I felt at a loss and didn’t know where to turn. While doing some research I came across this book.
This book is a very easy to read and understand book. It isn’t filled with a bunch of stuff that doesn’t really pertain to the situation, nor is it full of long winded ideas that many of these types of books can contain. I thought it was a pretty fast read which makes it even better. If I start to falter I can go back and read it again to get myself back on track.
The basis of this book is trying to show you how to be an understanding, loving and trusting parent. By doing this you can build a good line of communication with your teenager. Leading by example has a tendency to come back to you. The book will show you that by showing your teenager that you believe in them, love them and are willing to try to understand them, they in return will feel the same about you. Therefore the lines of communication remain open and honest.
Helping your teenager find the right attitude and begin to build some respect not just for you but for themselves, is very important. Respect is something that is earned and giving your teenagers the correct tools and the right understanding will help you learn respect for them but moreover will help them to respect you.
I do believe this book has saved my teenager’s life or at least their sanity. I know for a fact it has saved mine. No more of those terrible late night fights that send us both in a tizzy and never seem to be resolved. Together we can make it work and thanks to this book we both believe that now.
